New things on the horizon for Star Wars Outlaws

Currently, Star Wars Outlaws is going through a massive revamp under the creative leadership of Drew Rechner. He is the new creative director of the game. It’s a turning point in the game’s history. Though it was bold and ambitious, it did receive mixed reviews after its first release.

Rechner is already an established success leading franchises like The Division, to mention just one. He’s already described extensive chunks of upgrades to its base gameplay mechanics. In many ways, the area where most players will likely spend a lot of time is probably combat.

The studio is aiming to increase engagement by focusing on tactical depth and precision, allowing players to experiment with different strategies and playstyles. Furthermore, stealth mechanics are being revamped for more flexibility. This includes better detection systems and more strategies to deal with encounters with enemies.

Lastly, character controls will improve interactions so that cover mechanics and climbing will be seamless, hence more fluidly responsive. This will have been a significant improvement as compared to previous versions of the game. Title Update 1. 4, according to reports, is described as the biggest update since Star Wars Outlaws release and will centre on choices and player agency.

This update promises to be a turning point for the game and may change the way one interacts with its universe. This aligns well with the passion of improvement from the creators, much like Cyberpunk 2077’s strong post-launch quality. For fans of the Star Wars franchise, it is a good time to relive Star Wars Outlaws now.

The studio will continue to refine the experience overall while exceeding the very high expectations of its committed fan base. Even though significant improvements are on the horizon, this game could be just what it takes to live up to the potential and provide a compelling, engaging experience for both the newcomer to Star Wars and the long-time fan.
